Beau got home from traveling on Friday evening, but I started my FUN weekend early. I took Friday off and had a “Pamper-Me” day. I slept in late, read some in bed with the cat curled up next to me, then got up and ready for my day. I played a bit on the computer and watched some daytime TV and then took off. I went to an antique store and then to the mall. I got a deluxe pedicure (included the masque for my feet and leg massage while I sat in the massage chair (vibrating fingers are wonderful) and then had some great deep rosy red polish put on my toes. I left and browsed the mall some more and picked up some new make-up. Then I headed for my favorite gourmet grocery store and picked up a few things for dinner (and for later in the week). After that, I headed home, cooked dinner and surprised Beau with an old record album from e-bay that he’d been wanting. I had it playing on the stereo when he walked in and we sat down to dinner and a relaxing evening.
Saturday morning, we went to a small Market Day in Gruene, Texas. Gruene
After that, we went into New Braunfels and found a German restaurant that is owned by a family of 8 who came from Germany in 2004. We had a wonderful lunch and met the owners. They invited us back for Tuesday night’s Stammtisch (a special table in the restaurant set aside for conversations with friends and they have Germans and Americans who show up to speak together in German and/or English) and we’re looking forward to visiting there more! We even picked up some fresh broetchen and it was like being transported back to Germany!! What a fun day!
Sunday (today) we left at 11 and drove to Kerrville (because I’d never been there) and it was not what I was expecting. Needless to day, Saturday was much more fun. But we did stop for lunch at a Chinese restaurant and then headed back home. We dropped off all of Beau’s “fat” clothes at a thrift store that supports a local charity and then headed back home to unwind. Now I have to get ready for the next week of work. Oh, well. Gotta do that, so I can afford to have an occasional “Pamper-Me” day! That was my first since I started working at this job almost 3 years ago, but it won’t be my last and my next one may be in a couple of months. I know I won’t wait another 2-3 years!!

That sounds like a wonderful weekend! That is so cool about the German restaurant and the Stammtisch. I can’t wait to hear about it!
